KPD Blotter: Man Arrested for Pulling Knife, Throwing Punch During Argument

Other cases include a Kingsgate man losing an HDTV in an Ebay scam, outboard motor and pay phone thefts and minor pot busts.

 

The following are selected reports from the Kirkland Police Department for the period of March 16-21. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

March 16

  • Police arrested a 19-year-old Redmond man for possession after discovering about 14 grams of marijuana in his car when he was pulled over for equipment violations at about 1:15 in the morning along 85th Street on Rose Hill. He was taken to the city jail, processed and released.

  • Seeing a car parked at a gas station in the Bridle Trails Shopping Center at about 1:30 a.m. with its light off and engine running, and concerned about recent drug activity in the area, a police officer cited a 21-year-old Bellevue man for marijuana possession. The officer said there was a strong odor of pot in the car, two individuals inside, and when questioned, the Bellevue man handed over a paper cup with about one-half of a gram of pot. He was issued a citation. The other person in the car was a 21-year-old Renton man.

  • Police arrested a 19-year-old Renton man after he allegedly pulled a knife and then punched a 48-year-old Bothell man in the face during an argument in the 12000 block of 124th street in the Totem Lake area. The Renton man was arrested for brandishing a weapon, a black knife with some sort of residue on it that police kept as evidence. The incident occurred at about 9:20 a.m.
  • Police arrested a 27-year-old Kirkland woman for shoplifting after she allegedly tried to walk out of the store on Rose Hill at about 4 p.m. with a Nikon Coolpix digital camera. The camera was returned to the store.

 

March 21

  • After shipping a 40-inch, high-density Sony television to a person in Flushing, New York, in an Ebay sale, a 39-year-old Kingsgate man discovered the $250 check he had been sent was no good. The man told police the banl account had been closed and he could not reach the alleged buyer by phone or email anymore. The phony transaction occurred between March 12 and 19.
  • A thief used a drill to break into the cash box and steal coins from a pay phone at the Bridle Trails Shopping Center on 70th Place sometime between March 18 and 21, an Frontier Communications employee told police.
  • A Yamaha outboard motor was stolen from a boat parked behind a 39-year-old man’s residence on 116th Avenue in the Bridle Trails area. The theft occurred during the day, between 7:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
