KPD BLOTTER: Copper Wiring Stolen, Bowling Alley Altercation

Cops also make small pot bust and check out burglary and theft of cash recorded on video.

The following are selected reports from the Kirkland Police Department for the period from April 1-6.

April 1

  • Police arrested a 24-year-old Bothell woman and a 23-year-old Bellevue woman on suspicion of assault after a late-night altercation at Tech City Bowl on Rose Hill. The two were reportedly seen out on the bowling lanes punching a 22-year-old Kirkland woman in the face.
  • A 47-year-old resident of Slater Avenue on north Rose Hill reported a burglary at his home the previous day, with the loss of a cell phone, DVD player and 25-inch HDTV. There were no leads. The man told police he had left the home unlocked.

April 2

  • Police arrested a 34-year-old Kirkland man for trespassing after staff at the Heathman Hotel downtown reported that he had entered the premises despite previously being informed that he would be trespassing if he returned.

April 3

  • After a noise complaint at the North Kirkland Community Center in Juanita, police arrested a 23-year-old Finn Hill man on misdemeanor drug charges when they smelled marijuana in his vehicle. He allowed a search and police found 9.3 grams of pot, a scale and a glass pipe.

April 4

  • An 80-year-old Kirkland man told police that sometime during the previous week someone entered an unlocked vacant building he owns on 7th Avenue downtown and tore out copper wiring worth about $5,000. Police could not lift any fingerprints. The victim told police that the culprit must have had experience with wiring in commercial buildings.
  • Police arrested a 38-year-old Bothell woman on theft charges after staff at a business on 115th Avenue in the Totem lake area reported she was captured on video stealing $80 from a 26-year-old co-worker. She was contacted and admitted the theft.

April 5

  • About 120 pills of an unreported narcotic were stolen from the locked safe of a 39-year-old Juanita woman, who told police she suspected her 17-year-old son.

April 6

  • A 26-year-old woman from Northeast 129th Street in the Totem Lake area reported that an unknown person at an unknown time stole a check from her and cashed it at an unknown bank for $1,000. She discovered the theft when she looked at her account online. She told police her credit union had reimbursed her for the loss.
