KPD BLOTTER: Woman Claims Monster in Her Home, Arrested for Domestic Violence

Other cases include a hot dog stand fight and a drunk arrested for poking a waitress in the breast near closing time at a Totem Lake bar.

The following are selected case reports from the Kirkland Police Department for the period of Aug. 26-Aug. 31.

Aug. 26

  • After a fight over change at a hot dog stand along Kirkland Avenue downtown at almost 2 a.m., police arrested a 22-year-old Mukilteo man on charges of disorderly conduct and malicious mischief. Police took a Taser cartridge as evidence. The victim was a 53-year-old Seattle man; apparently the cover for his stand was damaged during the incident.

  • After allegedly poking a waitress in the breast at a bar on NE 124th Street in the Totem Lake area, a “very drunk/dramatic” 47-year-old man from Seattle was arrested for assault. The suspect remained uncooperative throughout the incident, which occurred at almost 2 a.m. The victim was a 22-year-old woman from Bothell.
  • After allegedly leaving the Rose Hill store without paying for a silver chain, a 56-year-old Sammamish woman was arrested at about 3 p.m. The chain was returned to the store, and the suspect was taken to the police station, booked and released.
  • After almost being hit by two vehicles while trying to cross Market Street downtown outside of a crosswalk, and then falling on her face in the middle of Lake Avenue, a 17-year-old Port Orchard woman was arrested by police. Her blood alcohol level tested at .217. She was taken to the police department at , medically cleared by aid personnel and released to her father.


Aug. 28

  • Police arrested a 42-year-old man from Champaign, Ill., on two outstanding warrants from that state after contacting him while looking for a man who pushed a female near on Lake Street at about 1:30 p.m.. The man matched the description of the shoving suspect, and a check of his ID turned up the warrants. Authorities in Illinois were contacted and requested extradition, so the suspect was taken to the King County Jail in Seattle to begin that process.
  • Some time between 2 a.m. and noon, someone stole a purse from a bridal suite at Carillon Point’s , a 29-year-old Bellevue woman reported to police. The woman lost the purse, a watch, white gold earrings, an undisclosed amount of cash, perfume and make up.

  • Police arrested, booked and released a 32-year-old woman who lives along 124th Ave. NE in Kingsate after she allegedly shoplifted allergy medication, eye drops and a beverage from the nearby ’s store at about 7:30 p.m.


Aug. 31

  • Police arrested a 26-year-old Kirkland man at an apartment complex on NE 132nd St. in Juanita for unlawful imprisonment after he allegedly held is 32-year-old wife down and hid her phone during an argument. She eventually escaped to a neighbor’s apartment, where she called the police. The suspect fled on foot, but was located in the apartment complex at about 10:40 p.m. and arrested.
  • Claiming there was a monster in her home on 115th Lane in Juanita, a 42-year-old woman called 911 at about 8:15 a.m. When police arrived they discovered that she had allegedly threatened her 36-year-old boyfriend with a bat during an argument, punched him in the face and then turned the bat on the his property and the residence. She was arrested for domestic violence.
