Man, 49, Accused of Paying 15-Year-Old for Sex in Kirkland

Jordan C. Lind of Mercer Island faces felony charges of commercial sexual abuse of a minor after allegedly paying a teen girl for sex on four separate occasions.

A 49-year-old Mercer Island man faces felony charges of commercial sexual abuse of a minor after police say he paid a 15-year-old girl for sex on four different occasions at a Kirkland residence.

Charging documents filed in King County Superior Court allege Jordan C. Lind paid the girl to perform sex acts at a downtown Kirkland apartment. He was arrested there on March 19 and is being held at the King County Jail on $200,000 bail.

Detectives first met with the alleged victim at a juvenile detention facility in Everett. The girl told police she had been working in prostitution earlier this year under an adult female pimp and that she had been taken to Kirkland at least four times to perform sex acts on a man later identified as Lind.

According to charging documents, the girl told Lind she was 15 upon their first meeting, to which he allegedly replied: "That's OK, I like them young."

The girl directed police to an apartment in the 300 block of 6th Avenue in Kirkland, where the incidents allegedly took place. Police later served a search warrant on the residence and found Lind with a 20-year-old woman who has a history in prostitution but denied being at the apartment for that purpose.

Court documents state Lind told police that he routinely has sex with prostitutes but always verifies their age first, adding that "he has terrible luck."Β
