Update: Man Shot During Altercation at Totem Lake Condominium Complex

The victim was conscious when police arrived and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

 

A man was shot in the lower torso during an altercation Tuesday night at the Evergreen Villa condominium complex at 12034 Slater Ave in the Totem Lake area, say Kirkland Police. He was rushed by an aid crew to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, but his wound is not life-threatening.

Police responded to a report of a man shot in a residence in the complex at about 11:11 p.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound, but conscious, according to the Kirkland Police Department. He was treated at the scene and then taken to Harborview.

The man was in serious condtion Wedneday morning, but his injuries are not life-threatening, said Harborview spokeswoman Susan Gregg. Kirkland Police have not released the names of anyone involved in the incident.

The man, in his 50s, was shot somewhere in the lower torso, said Kirkland Police spokesman Sgt. Rob Saloum.

All parties involved were at the scene when police arrived, and two men were taken to the Kirkland Police Station for questioning. The altercation was among acquaintances, Saloum said, but police do not know if any other crimes occurred.

"They're adults, they're known to each other," said Saloum adding that one of them apparently was a resident of the complex. "The shooting victim is in his 50s, the other parties in their 30s."

Police were still at the scene Wednesday morning at 7. Detective Todd Aksdal said he could release no details about the incident, but that police were waiting for a judge to sign a search warrant order. Another officer was interviewing a man who appeared to be a resident of a nearby unit.
