Nicole Pietz's Mother Speaks Out About Arrest in Daughter's 2006 Murder

Martin 'David' Pietz, 34, was arrested on Wednesday in Kirkland for the 2006 murder of his 32-year-old wife Nicole Pietz.

The mother of Nicole Pietz is speaking out about the arrest of Pietz's husband in the 2006 murder of her daughter in Lynnwood.

Martin "David" Pietz, 34, was arrested on Wednesday by King County Sheriff's detectives where he works, at in downtown Kirkland. He has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 32-year-old Nicole Theresa Pietz.

"It took six years and 54 days, but we're finally there. We finally have an arrest," the victim's mother, Gael Schneider, told The Huffington Post. "It couldn't have been anybody but him. It could not have."

Nicole Pietz was reported missing by her husband of four years to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office on Jan. 28, 2006, after she failed to show up to a dinner party. A hiker stumbled upon her body nine days later in a wooded area outside of Lynnwood. An autopsy revealed that Pietz had been beaten and strangled.

Pietz is being held in the King County Jail on $1 million bail, with an arraignment set for April 4.
