Kirkland Man Charged With Attempted Child Rape

Seattlepi.com is reporting that the 36-year-old man is in the King County Jail after allegedly trying to arrange the rape of his girlfriend's daughter.

A Kirkland man registered as a sex offender for a 2000 conviction is in the King County Jail after being charged earlier this month with attempted child rape, seattlepi.com is reporting.

Kirkland Police spokesman Sgt. Rob Saloum confirmed the story Friday to Kirkland Patch. King County Superior Court records show Ryan David Firoved, 36, was booked into the jail on July 6 on charges of attempted child rape and conspiracy to commit child rape, with bail set at $300,000.

According to the seattlepi.com story, Firoved attempted to arrange for the rape of his girlfriend’s daughter. The news site quotes charging documents indicating the girl’s mother contacted Kirkland Police in June with concerns about Firoved, who allegedly suggested sex acts he could perform on the girl and suggested he could “make it consensual.”

Cooperating with police, the woman arranged to meet Firoved at a motel on July 5, where he believed he would have sex with the girl. He was arrested when he arrived at the motel after a brief struggle.
