Update: Woodinville Girl in Intensive Care Following Crash on I-405

A 19-year-old Redmond man was driving a 2012 Chevy Camaro when he failed to negotiate a turn onto I-90 and struck a tree.

Update, 11:45 a.m. May 21:Β The 14-year-old Woodinville girl injured in a Sunday crash on I-405 has been transferred to Harborview Medical Center and is in intensive care with serious injuries, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

The other teen injured in the crash, a 19-year-old Redmond man, was treated and released from Overlake Hospital Medical Center on Sunday.

Two Eastside teens were transported to Overlake Hospital Medical Center Sunday morning following a single-vehicle crash on I-405 in Bellevue.

A 19-year-old Redmond man was driving a 2012 Chevy Camaro on I-405 southbound at about 9:10 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a turn onto I-90 westbound and struck a tree, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol.

Both the driver and his passenger, a 14-year-old Woodinville girl, were transported to Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue. Patch is attempting to obtain information on the severity of their injuries and will update this post if and when that information becomes available.

The collision remains under investigation with WSP. Drugs and/or alcohol are believed to be factors in the collision.
