Services Saturday for Sammamish Native Claire Thompson

Services will be held at Mars Hill Church in Sammamish on Saturday for Thompson, who died from a gunshot wound last weekend.

Claire Thompson, the 20-year-old Eastlake graduate who was fatally shot early Sunday morning in Redmond, will be remembered by friends and family at a service 4 p.m. Saturday at Mars Hill Church, 120 228th Ave NE in Sammamish.

Thompson was a student at Seattle Central Community College and planned to transfer to the University of Hawaii to study nursing, according to an obituary on the Seattle Times website. Her family described her as a wonderful young lady with a warm heart and a dedicated love for cats and nature, as well as a passion for music and dancing.

Thompson is survived by her mother, Diane Benveniste (Morrie); her father, Lee Thompson; her older brother, Warren Thompson; and her younger sister, Madeline Thompson; grandmother, Judith McKeand; grandfather, H. Keith Thompson; aunts, Diana Teoli (Bill), Janet Sylvester (Doug); uncles, Clay Thompson and Kenneth McKeand; as well as many cousins and extended family members.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to MEOW Cat Rescue, PO Box 58, Kirkland, WA 98083-0058.

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
