VIDEO: Burglary Suspect Nabbed on Tiger Mountain After High Speed Chase

A 27-year-old Issaquah man was caught in the woods on Tiger Mountain after attempting to run over an officer and leading Sheriff's deputies on a high speed chase on Highway 18.

A man who led police on a high speed chase and then ran into the woods to hide was arrested Thursday after being spotted by the King County Sheriff’s Office Guardian1 helicopter.

The incident started just before noon in the 19500 block of Maxwell Road.  A deputy was patrolling the neighborhood and spotted the suspect who appeared to be attempting to burglarize a house in the area.

When the suspect saw the deputy he ran to his car and drove away.  The deputy stopped the vehicle near SE 208th Street and Maxwell Rd.  When the deputy got out of his car, the man tried to run the deputy over and sped away.

The deputy chased the suspect on Highway 18 towards Interstate 90. The deputy “pitted” the vehicle near mile post 27 and the suspect fled into the woods on foot.

Guardian 1 arrived and searched the area from the air as deputies searched for the suspect on foot. A pilot saw a “hot spot” in the woods a few feet off Highway 18 and directed deputies to the location. The suspect was found hiding under heavy brush in the area.

The 27-year-old Issaquah man was arrested and booked into the King County Jail.

In the City of Kirkland you need a City-issued business license to do Door-to-door solicitation. IRead More am willing to bet they did not have the license. Call the police next time.
