Website Shows When DUI Patrols Will Be in Kirkland

The site is sponsored by the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.

A new website intended to encourage sober driving is now publishing a list of upcoming DUI patrols in King, Pierce and Snohomish County.

The site, waTikiLeaks.com, is sponsored by the Washington Traffic Safety Commission and is part of a two-year effort to reduce deaths caused by DUIs.

According to the site, special DUI patrols will be in Kirkland over Labor Day weekend and between 8 p.m. and 3 a.m. on the following Friday night, Sept. 9-10.

Although the information could help drivers avoid tickets and arrests, a news release from the traffic safety commission says the main objective is to "promote safe driving on a community level."
