THIS CAMPAIGN

What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

Continue work to provide each student with a education that will benefit them in their future endeavors and to provide families and students with choices to allow this to occur.

What will be your top three priorities if you get elected and why?

Fulfill primary roles and obligations of SB:

  • Hiring a new superintendent
  • Governance of operational and fiscal accountability
  • Assess school effectiveness; communicate w/ public and engage their active participation; engage community in understanding the complexity of modern public school funding.

To continue to have choices for students and families to provide each student with what they need to succeed.  And to see that each student leaves our district with a meaningful diploma.

What sets you apart from the other candidates and/or previous office holders?

Experience:  26 years of involvement in the Lake Washington School District as a parent, as a school volunteer, as a PTA leader at three schools and PTSA Council and 16 years on the LW School Board.

How much money do you expect your campaign to spend on this election?

My current opponent has decided to withdraw.  Due to King County Election rules, she cannot be removed from the ballot or voters pamphlet past the deadline in June.

I expect to spend between $6000 and $7000.
