City Council Meeting, Parent Night and Emergency Radio Session
Essential events in Kirkland today
1) The Kirkland City Council meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the city hall council chambers. The usual study session will be held at 6 p.m. in the Peter Kirk Room. Call 425-587-3190 for more information.
2) Rose Hill Junior High is hosting parent night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This will give parents of 5th and 6th grade students an opportunity to meet the staff and hear about curricular and extra-curricular activities. Parent night meets in the school’s auditorium.
3) At 7 p.m. on third Tuesdays, the Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) holds its general meeting at one of the various Kirkland fire stations. Please call 425-587-3630 for location information.

4) Are you an aspiring comedian? Don’t miss Tuesday Night Open Mic at Laughs Comedy Spot in Totem Lake at 8:30 p.m. Admission is free, but comics will want to sign up via email in advance. Shows are 21 and over with cheap beer and food sure to attract a crowd.
5) The Kirkland Branch Library offers two children’s story times today. Two’s and three’s will enjoy the Toddler Story Time from 10 a.m. while those aged 4-6 years old will like the Preschool Story Time at 11 a.m. Both age groups are exploring the alphabet through stories, songs and rhymes.
