City to Hold Meeting on New Public Safety Building

The informational meeting will take place on Jan. 31 at the current Kirkland Municipal Court.

Kirkland officials and design consultants will hold a project update meeting on the city's new public safety building from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 31.

During the meeting, officials will provide updates on the building design and permitting process and answer questions. The gathering will be held at the current Kirkland Municipal Court, 11515 NE 118th St.

Plans call for the remodeling of the 102,000-square-foot building at 11831 NE 120th Ave. in Totem Lake. The Kirkland Police Department and city jail will move out of their existing City Hall location to the new Public Safety Building, which will also house the Kirkland Municipal Court.

City officials say the project will streamline many of its operations and eliminate the need to transport inmates facing misdemeanor charges. More information can be found in an earlier Kirkland Patch story or on the city's webpages.

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
