City Urging Residents to Beat Heat in Community Centers, Libraries

With forecasts for temperatures in the mid-90s Thursday and Friday, Kirkland is urging residents to visit air-conditioned facilities and check on family and neighbors who might need assistance.

Editor's Note: The following is a press release from the City of Kirkland.

----

Public buildings with air conditioning will be available for Kirkland residents seeking relief from the extremely hot weather taking place over the next few days.  The National Weather Service has announced an excessive heat watch for Thursday, August 16 and Friday, August 17.

Residents are encouraged to visit air conditioned places such as those listed below, a mall or movie theater, to check on relatives and neighbors, particularly those with health issues, and to never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle, even with the windows rolled down.

In the City of Kirkland you need a City-issued business license to do Door-to-door solicitation. IRead More am willing to bet they did not have the license. Call the police next time.
