Five File With King County Elections for Kirkland City Council

Incumbents Asher, Sternoff and Greenway file along with former legislator Toby Nixon and newcomer Jason Gardiner.

Three incumbents and two challengers filed papers Monday with the King County Elections agency to run this fall for the Kirkland City Council.

Incumbent Jessica Greenway, who announced in April that she would run again for Position 4, filed Monday, along with former state legislator Toby Nixon, who announced last month he would challenge Greenway.

Dave Asher, who still has not yet formally announced his candidacy, did file papers Monday to run again for his Position 6 seat.

Bob Sternoff, who announced he would run again late last Month, filed as well for his Position 2 seat, along with a challenger, Jason Gardiner, a telecommunications architect from the newly annexed neighborhood of Kingsgate.

Monday was the first day candidates could file for 2011 King County primary and general elections.
