• Happy President’s Day! In 1971, President Nixon combined the celebrations of Washington’s and Lincoln’s birthdays into one national holiday. Children in the Lake Washington School District are off today in observance of the holiday and back at school tomorrow.
• Sunrise today is at 7:05 a.m.; Sundown is 5:42 p.m.
•  Kirkland’s regularly scheduled Design Review Board meeting is cancelled tonight due to the holiday.
• The North Rose Hill Neighborhood Association meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Fire Station on 124th Ave. NE. Discussion will center on safety issues that need to be resolved at the Woodlands Park Tot Lot and a possible neighborhood-wide garage sale to be scheduled later this summer.
