Kirkland Seeking to Fill Vacancies on Park Board, Other Commissions and Panels

Kirkland citizens are invited to apply to both adult and youth vacancies on city advisory boards by Feb. 14.

KIRKLAND, Wash. – The City of Kirkland has adult and youth vacancies occurring on several of its advisory boards and commissions. Eligibility requirements differ for each board or commission.

Interested citizens are invited to apply.  Some incumbents on these boards and commissions have served one term and are eligible to apply for re-appointment. Completed applications must be received by the City Clerk prior to 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2013.  To learn more about each board and to obtain the community service application, go to www.kirklandwa.gov, visit Kirkland City Hall, 123 5th Avenue, or call the City Clerk’s Office at 425-587-3190.

Adult vacancies are available on the following boards and commissions:

·         Cultural Arts Commission

·         Design Review Board

·         Human Services Advisory Committee

·         Library Board

·         Park Board

·         Planning Commission

·         Salary Commission

·         Tourism Development Committee

·         Transportation Commission

Youth vacancies are available on the following boards and commissions:

·         Cultural Arts Commission

·         Human Services Advisory Committee

·         Library Board

·         Park Board

·         Transportation Commission

With the exception of some of the positions on the Cultural Arts Commission, the members of the advisory boards listed above are appointed by the City Council.  The City Council will interview qualified applicants on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Most boards/commissions hold evening meetings.

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
