Possible Measles Exposure at Spud's Fish and Chips, Parkplace QFC

Officials say two siblings, an adult and a child, who were visiting the Seattle area earlier this month have been diagnosed with measles.

King County health officials are warning the public about potential measles exposure at five locations around King County, including a Kirkland grocery store and restaurant.

Officials say two siblings, an adult and a child, who were visiting the Seattle area earlier this month have been diagnosed with measles. These two cases are unrelated to another measles case in an individual who was at SeaTac Airport on July 4.

Most people in the Seattle area have been vaccinated against measles, meaning the general risk to the public is low, officials said. But the health department warned those who have not been vaccinated or have weakened immune systems will want to watch for symptoms—such as a fever or unexplained rash—between July 16 and Aug. 6.
