Three Kirkland Companies Finalists in Small Business Awards Program

County executive launches the awards program to recognize small businesses that best demonstrate innovation and excellence.

Three Kirkland companies have been named finalists in the King County executive’s first Small Business Awards program.

was named a finalist in the Minority Small Business of the Year category. Ombrella Inc. earned the honor in the Woman Small Business of the Year category and the in the Green/Sustainable Small Business category.

The companies were among 21 in seven categories named finalists in the program, which recognizes small businesses throughout King County that best demonstrate innovation and excellence.

“My priority is to build prosperity and get people back to work, and small businesses will lead the way as they create the majority of new jobs in our economy,” Dow Constantine, King County executive, said in a press release. “I am pleased to honor small businesses by recognizing the best of them, and celebrating the entrepreneurs who are achieving excellence and putting people back to work.”

The winners wil be announced at an awards program on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 7:15 p.m., at the in Bellevue.

Minority Small Business of the Year Finalists

  • Chameleon Technologies, Inc.  (Kirkland)
  • General Microsystems, Inc.  (Bellevue)
  • Triple XXX Rootbeer  (Issaquah)
