Nighttime drivers who use southbound I-405 to travel through the Kirkland area should plan ahead and use alternate routes on Saturday, June 8 because of overnight construction-related closures.

In order to continue restriping the highway to shift lanes and create work zones for the Bellevue to Lynnwood Widening and Express Toll Lanes project, crews plan to close two consecutive on-ramps to and one off-ramp from southbound I-405:

  • The Northeast 85th Street on-ramp to southbound I-405 from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
  • The Northeast 70th Street on-ramp to southbound I-405 from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.
  • The southbound I-405 off-ramp to Northeast 70th Street from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.

In addition, crews will close up to three lanes of southbound I-405 between Northeast 70th Street and SR 520 starting at 8 p.m. One lane will reopen by 5 a.m., and all lanes will be open by 9 a.m. Sunday.
