Have Your Say: Parent/Community Survey Now Open in Lake Washington School District

Every year, the Lake Washington School District asks parents and community members to take a few minutes and give feedback about how schools are doing.

Questions include statements such as, "The school communicates its goals effectively to families and the community," and "School work is meaningful and made relevant." Survey takers can choose from answers such as agree, disagree, strongly agree, etc.

District officials say the survey provides good feedback on important parent concerns and will help the district understand how to improve schools. Results are used in reports to the school board, in continuous improvement processes and are broken out by school for principals.

Survey questions are based on the Nine Characteristics of High-Performing Schools. This framework for school improvement was developed by the Office for the Superintendent of Public Schools based on a review of the research on what makes a high-performing school. 

This year, the survey opened April 16 and can be filled out through May 13.
