Kangs Clip Liberty 5-4, Move Into Tie for Second Place

scored four runs in the fourth inning and edged Liberty 5-4 Friday night at Peter Kirk Park to move into a tie with Bellevue for second place in the KingCo 3A/2A Conference at 6-3.

Spencer Jackson pitched six innings, giving up five hits and four runs while striking out five. Chris Moore drove in two runs.

LW next faces Mercer Island on Monday at Island Crest Park, 6 p.m.

In other local high school baseball play, the Rebels fell to Sammamish 14-4 in five innings. Mitch Gebe and Chris Foss each went 2-for-3 at the plate, with Foss hitting two doubles and Gebe one.

The Rebels play at Bothell High at noon on Saturday. They continue league play Monday against league-leading Mount Si, at Peter Kirk Park’s Lee Johnson Field, 7 p.m.
