Kangs Baseball Team Suffers 1st Conference Loss, Rally Falls Short Vs. Bellevue

The Kangs went down swinging with a rally in the bottom of the 7th inning, but Bellevue High handed Lake Washington its first conference loss of the season Monday night at Lee Johnson Field in Kirkland, 6-5.

Lake Washington scored a run in the first inning and two in the second, but Bellevue responded with four runs in the third and never looked back. The Kangs added a run in the fifth and another in the seventh to make it 6-5, but the game ended with a strikeout and Alexander left on third base after a single.

Lake Washington dropped to 6-1 in KingCo 3A play, 9-3 overall and next faces Sammamish at Lee Johnson Field, 7 p.m. Bellevue improved to 6-4 overall and next plays at Mount Si on Wednesday, 4 p.m.
