Magazine Ranks Kirkland's International School No. 8 in Math, Science

U.S. News & World Report gives ICS a gold medal; Bellevue's International School and Redmond High are also recognized.

US News & World Report ranked the math and science programs at No. 8 in the country in the publication's first ever ranking of top high schools for math and science.

As one of the top 208 schools, ICS, a Lake Washington School District "choice" school, earned a gold medal. Bellevue's ranked No. 17 in math and science, also earning a gold medal, and No. 10 overall. was also recognized for excellence in math and science, earning a silver medal.

Rankings were based on 2008 data for schools that made the US News Best High Schools ranking in December 2009. Schools were ranked on the basis of math and science participation and success in Advanced Placement test data for science, technology, engineering and math.
