New Principals Named at Five Kirkland Grade Schools

Sandburg, Discovery, Bell, Twain and Rose Hill elementary schools will have new leaders starting with the 2012-13 school year.

 

New principals have been named for five Kirkland elementary schools by the Lake Washington School District: , , and .

A number of administrative changes for the 2012-13 school year were announced Tuesday by the district.

Heather Frazier will become the principal at Carl Sandburg Elementary and Discovery Community School, both atop Finn Hill in the same complex, which is undergoing an $18 million modernization project. Frazier currently serves as the assistant principal at Rosa Parks Elementary in Redmond. She replaces Mark Blomquist, who will move to an associate principal position at Inglewood Middle School.


Heidi Paul will become the principal at A.G. Bell Elementary in Juanita, which is undergoing a $16.8 million modernization project. She replaces interim principal Craig Madsen and has been a language arts teacher at Inglewood Junior High since 2001. She completed an administrative internship at Inglewood during the 2011-2012 school year.

Craig Mott has been selected to serve as the new principal at Mark Twain Elementary on north Rose Hill. He currently serves as assistant principal at , where he has been for the past seven years. He replaces Rick Burden, who has been selected as an associate director for Special Education. Rick replaces Jon Holmen, who was previously announced as the new director of school support (DSS) for the Redmond Learning Community.

Jennifer Hodges has been selected to serve as the new principal at Rose Hill Elementary. She replaces Karin Janik, who is retiring. Hodges comes from the Seattle Public Schools, where she has been for 15 years and currently serves as assistant principal at Aki Kurose Middle School.

Finally, Erin Bowser has been selected as the new principal for Rose Hill Middle School and Stella Schola Middle School, both just east of the Kirkland-Redmond boundary. Bowser replaces Laurynn Evans, who is leaving the district and currently serves as the assistant principal at Rose Hill Junior High and Stella Schola.

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
