Big Backyard 5K Set for May 20 at Marymoor Park

The third-annual race will feature a kids' dash and Casper Babypants concert, in addition to the main event.

 

Lace up those sneakers: King County's third-annual Big Backyard 5K is set to return to Marymoor Park on May 20, and registration discounts are available for those who sign up quickly.

Race organizers are currently running a Living Social promotion that includes registration, T-shirt, race beanie, food, drinks and more for $26. Regular registration is $40.

The 5K, open to runners, walkers, dogs and strollers, begins at 9 a.m. and will be followed by a free kids' dash at 9:45 a.m.  will perform after the running events. 

The Big Backyard 5K is a fundraiser for the King County Parks. Last year, approximately 1,300 race participants brought in nearly $50,000 for the parks system.
