Kangs' Baseball Season Ends with First Round Playoff Loss to Hanford

Lake Washington can't recover after Hanford scores nine runs in the bottom of the first inning.

The Lake Washington High baseball team’s season ended with error-plagued first inning it could not overcome as the Kangs fell to Hanford Saturday 14-8 in the first round of the state playoffs at Richland High.

Hanford scored nine runs in the bottom of the first to take a 9-1 lead, and despite 11 hits in the game, LW could not recover and ended the season with a 14-12 record.

Zach Johnson had two hits in four at-bats with a homer run, driving in four runs. Kory Kohlwes went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI, while Chris Moore went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Hanford’s Ryan Neal had three hits, including a homer, in five at-bats, driving in four runs.
