LW's Zach Johnson Fans 11, Shuts Out Juanita 6-0

Tough day for Juanita as Rebels also fall to Eastlake in opener of double-header.

Zach Johnson struck out 11, walked none and scattered six hits as the Lake Washington High baseball team blanked crosstown rival Juanita 6-0 Saturday night at Peter Kirk Park.

Johnson threw 109 pitches – 77 for strikes – while earning the complete-game win.

The Kangs’ Spencer Jackson had two hits in three at-bats, including a double, and drove in three runs. Chris Moore went 2-for-4 at the plate with a triple and an RBI, while Nick Johnson went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Bob Cruikshank had two hits in four at-bats, including a double.

The Rebels’ Coner Jackson had two hits in three at-bats.

It was a tough night for Juanita, which dropped the opener of a double-header to Eastlake, 5-2. JJ Caldwell went 2-for-3 at the plate in that game, with an RBI.

Both LW and Juanita return to Peter Kirk Park Monday. LW, now 7-4 in the KingCo 3A/2A Conference, takes on league-leading Mount Si (11-0) at 4 p.m. Juanita hosts Interlake at 7 p.m.
