Solo to Serve as Face of Seattle Reign FC, Says She's Happier Than Ever

Richland native and Kirkland resident Hope Solo acknowledged 'a crazy year,' which included a November arrest of her then-fiance Jerramy Stevens at her Finn Hill home. But said she is happily married and as happy as she's ever been.

Kirkland’s most famous soccer player appeared at a press conference by her new team, the Seattle Reign FC, confident, comfortable and answering as many questions about her personal life as her professional life, The Seattle Times reports.

Solo, 31 and a Finn Hill resident, will serve as goalkeeper and the face of the new women’s pro club, which begins play this spring. First she will report to the U.S. national team on Feb. 2.

She acknowledged her at-times tumultuous personal life, including an incident at her home last Nov. 13 during which Kirkland police arrested her then fiance and now husband Jerramy Stevens, the former University of Washington and NFL football player (charges were never filed). But she said right now she’s the happiest she’s been ever been.

"It's been a crazy year, as always — the story of my life — but it's been a great year," the Richland native and former UW star told the Times. "Right now, I'm the happiest I've ever been in my personal life. I'm happily married. Yeah, there's lots of ups and downs, but that's what makes us strong is getting through them all."

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
