Pet of the Week: Will Chuck's Hard Luck Take a Turn for the Better?

The 1-year-old Siamese mix arrived at Houghton's MEOW Cat shelter with an irritating eye condition that can make seeing hard, but has had corrective surgery and now just needs a home.

Β

Our precious friend of the week is Chuck, a gorgeous 1-year-old snowshoe Siamese mix, and he sure could teach us all a thing or two about hardship.

Chuck was surrendered to the Houghton shelter by a homeless family who had been living in their car. This was such a difficult decision for the family to make, but they wished for a better life for this cat as they sought their own.

Chuck came with an eye condition called entropian. This is a condition that causes the eyelids to turn inward, rather than flush and round with the eye itself. The condition causes redness, swelling, inflammation and a moderate to severe amount of irritation. It can affect the ability of a cat to see normally.

We are happy to report that Chuck had corrective surgery at the Northwest Animal Eye Specialists in June and has healed up nicely. In other words, he's good to go!

Chuck has also been neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and micro-chipped. He is just as friendly and easy going as can be. He gets along well with everyone and has his paws crossed, hoping for a new family soon. If it could be you, please see www.meowcatrescue.org or call 425-822-6369.
