Schools Supplies Needed for Kids Served By Eastside Domestic Violence Program

Donations of school backpacks and supplies can be dropped off at The Game restaurant in Juanita.

The Eastside Domestic Violence Program’s (EDVP) “Back to School Collection Drive” urgently needs donations of backpacks and school supplies for the children it serves.

EDVP is just 30 short of its goal of providing backpacks and supplies for all of the kids it serves in its community programs before school starts Sept. 6, said Kelly Becker, development director of the Bellevue-based non-profit.

In Kirkland, donations can be dropped off at The Game Neighborhood Grill and Bar in Juanita, 13510 100th Ave. NE (425-821-8006).

Here are the specific items it needs:

  • 15 markers
  • 20 pencil sharpeners
  • 30 gender-neutral backpacks
  • 10 packets of graph paper
  • 12 T5 calculators
  • 15 packages of college rule notebook paper
  • 15 three-ring binders, 2-inch


The EDVP is one of the largest domestic violence service providers in the state, providing comprehensive programs of support, shelter and education to families in critical need, including the poor, the defenseless and those without hope.

It offers a variety of programs for victims of domestic violence and maintains a 24-hour crisis line, (425) 746-1940 or 1-800-827-8840.

It’s school collection drive is designed to help kids in need get ready to succeed at school.
