The history of the Kirkland Performance Center is full of bright moments about a town coming together in support of the arts. It took a decade and more than a thousand donors to raise the capital for the building campaign. In June of 1998, the Kirkland Performance Center opened its doors to the public, offering a spacious yet intimate theater.

The mission at KPC is to present and support the performing arts. It is not a theater troupe, but a presentation venue. KPC staff is available to artists for both sound and lights expertise. There is a comfortable green room and multiple dressing rooms for artists.

KPC's season runs from about September to June and offers family performances, musical concerts and its Namaste project catering to an important Indian core constituency. Local students get the chance to perform with professional musicians and KPC participates as a Seattle International Film Festival location. Upcoming classes are available through the Education tab on KPC's website.
