Products include figurines and gifts, small appliances and other household goods and clothing for men, women and children. The organization was established in the 1980s when a group of Eastside women began holding garage sales to raise money for charity. The ECA's first thrift store was opened in downtown Redmond. The current location in the Totem Lake area is run entirely by volunteers.
