In June of 1998, the Kirkland Performance Center opened its doors to the public, offering a spacious yet intimate theater.</p> <p>The mission at KPC is to present and support the performing arts. It is not a theater troupe, but a presentation venue. KPC staff is available to artists for both sound and lights expertise. There is a comfortable green room and multiple dressing rooms for artists. </p> <p>KPC's season runs from about September to June and offers family performances, musical concerts and its Namaste project catering to an important Indian core constituency. Local students get the chance to perform with professional musicians and KPC participates as a Seattle International Film Festival location. Upcoming classes are available through the Education tab on KPC's website.</p>

This Kirkland location, one of three in the Seattle area, offers an atmosphere typically buzzing with activity. Tables along the front windows are filled with customers at their laptops, while large tree trunk tables in the center of the room invite guests to sit together to enjoy great coffee and good conversation. The Kirkland shop features the Single Origin Espresso Bar that employs the state-of-the-art "Slayer" espresso machine, one of only a handful currently in the industry. A selection of pastries and sandwiches are also available at the counter.
