The Eastside Winter Shelters will be opening their doors to homeless men and women in the next few weeks at churches in Bellevue and Redmond.
Eastside Winter Shelters is a collaborative social service that uses funding from various Eastside cities, along with several private organizations.
According to the City of Redmond Facebook page, the women's shelter will be organized by The Sophia Way and will open at Redmond United Methodist Church this Thursday, Nov. 1.
The women's shelter will continue to operate every night from 8:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. through March 15 and will spend the months of November and February at Redmond United Methodist and December and January at Bellevue First Congregational Church, 752 108th Ave. NE.
The men's shelter will open Nov. 15 under the direction of Bellevue-based Congregations for the Homeless. It will be housed from 8 p.m. until 8 a.m. every night through March 15 at Bellevue’s St. Peters United Methodist Church, 17222 NE 8th St.
