Hot Dog! Juanita Neighborhood Picnic Saturday

The new Juanita Neighborhood Association will host its first summer picnic Saturday at Juanita Beach Park, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Β

Members of the new Juanita Neighborhood Association will be firing up the grill and handing out hot dogs, listening to music and meeting neighbors Saturday, Aug. 18, at the group’s first summer picnic.

The picnic is free and, appropriately, will be at Juanita Beach Park, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The group, which serves as a liaison for the neighborhood with the City of Kirkland, reformed after north Juanita was added to Kirkland last year through annexation. The new group encountered some bumps on the way, dealing with a leadership struggle earlier this year; see a Kirkland Patch story .

The picnic is free and a great way to meet your neighbors. The Kirkland Parks Department and an association crew will be putting on games for all ages, and the Kirkland Fire Department will be on hand for safety demonstrations and chats with the kids.

The association is asking those who plan to attend to RSVP through a Facebook events page here.
