Ah, Thursday again, the weekend is near, and you need to get out but have no idea what to do or where to go. Kirkland Patch is here for you! Check out our weekly list of activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

  • Why Go: Merrill Gardens at Kirkland will celebrate the holiday season this year with a free Holiday Music Festival, featuring live music throughout the month of December. Saturday’s performance will feature Lyndi Guitar and Piano music.
  • Pricing: All concerts are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

  • Where/When: 1-3 p.m. on Sat, Dec. 10 at the in Kirkland.
  • Why Go: Create a new tradition with a Kirkland favorite, Woodmark’s 3rd annual Santa Tea. Come savor tasty treats and scrumptious holiday sweets while sipping an assortment of teas and hot cocoa. Cheryl Serio and Hans Brimmer of the Kirkland Performance Center will be on hand to provide festive holiday music. Little ones will love the holiday cookie decorating station, and of course, visiting with Santa!

  • Why Go: Light up the long dark of winter days with the holiday sounds of the Cascade Brass Quintet. Treat yourselves to the sounds of Christmas and Chanukah and learn the history behind the music of the wonderful winter holidays. Check out this Youtube clip of the Cascade Brass Quintet in action!
  • Pricing: This event is free and sponsored by Friends of the Library of Kirkland.
  • Where/When: 6-9 p.m. on Sat, Dec. 10 at the .
  • Why Go: Join the Kirkland Arts Center this Saturday as they host the 2nd Annual Snow Ball event at the KAC Store. This year's Snow Ball will showcase work by established and emerging artists. Guests will have the opportunity to add these inspired works to their collections and enjoy food, cocktails and festivities.
  • Pricing: Tickets are $15 each. Purchase online, by phone or at the door. RSVP by Friday, Dec. 9.

  • Why Go: Roll and stroll with Eastside Audubon this Saturday during this wheelchair-accessible tour. Juanita Bay Park is home to a diversity of bird life on the bay, in the marshes, and along the meadow edges. Boardwalks and gently sloping paved trails allow close views. Please bring an attendant if not independent. Binoculars recommended. Dress for the weather. Non-members welcome. No ticket required.

  • Why Go: Behind the Lens: A Celebration of Youth Filmmaking features a panel discussion of teens and adults in the film industry and screening clips of panelists’ work, along with networking opportunities with local film organizations.   • Why Go: Join GoGirlGo! Seattle and the City of Redmond for a screening of Finding Kind, a documentary on the effects of bullying in the female world. Because of the strong subject matter, the screening is recommended for parents and daughters (ages 10 and up). Check out this trailer for the film now, so you'll know what you're in for.

  • Where/When: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Sat, Dec. 10 at located in the Bella Bottega Shopping Center in Redmond.
  • Why Go: Help make a difference at Coldwell Banker’s 10th Annual “Toys for Tots” toy drive event this Saturday. Bring a new unwrapped toy to the Marines at our collection site and have your picture taken with the Marines and their Humvee!
  • Pricing: Free.

  • Where/When: 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. on Sunday at in Redmond.
  • Why Go: SecondStory Repertory is proud to present an all-ages production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat just in time for the holiday season. This uplifting musical for the whole family tells the Biblical story of Joseph found in the book of Genesis. With its colorful cast of characters, diverse and catchy musical score this is a show you won’t want to miss.
  • Pricing: Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students, seniors and educators.

 

  • Where/When: 9-10:30 a.m. on Sat, Dec. 10 at the .
  • Why Go: Grab the kids and come to the Redmond Senior Center this Saturday morning for a delicious breakfast and your chance to meet Santa!
  • Pricing: $12 for adults and $9 for children ages 3-17. Children 2 and younger are free with a paying adult. Tickets will be $15 (adults) and $12 (kids) on the day of the event (space permitting).
