Come meet the Council, ask questions at Nov. 3 Juanita Neighborhood meeting

Juanita area neighbors: Come join me at the Juanita Neighborhood Association meeting on Thursday, Nov. 3 at Juanita Elementary.

Juanita neighbors: the Kirkland City Council is coming to meet us Nov. 3! For those of you who, like me, live in the “new neighborhoods” of north Juanita, this will be our first opportunity as Kirkland city residents to join in a neighborhood meeting with the Council.

I hope you’ll make time to come to the Juanita Neighborhood Association meeting on Thursday, Nov. 3 at Juanita Elementary, 9635 N.E. 132nd St. It officially starts at 7 p.m., but come at 6:45 p.m. to meet neighborhood leaders, City Councilmembers and staff. Heck, come for a cookie, if that incentive works for you!

Why should you make time in your busy schedule, between school events, work, your favorite TV show or other commitments? Well, I’m giving up water aerobics that evening (sigh) because I want to hear what the Council says about issues that affect me, my family, and my neighborhood. Really!

My passion is parks. I want to know the Council’s thoughts on park improvements in our area, particularly at Edith Moulton Park.

What’s your passion related to where you live? Taxes? Roads? Sidewalks? Do you have a question or concern you want to share with the City Council? This is your best opportunity to dialogue. Plus, it’s right before the election. Come see the council in action and form your own opinion of our sitting councilmembers.

I hope to see you there!
