Storrage, Inc. Expands On-Demand Personal Storage Solution to More Neighborhoods

Due to numerous requests from area residents, Storrage, the Seattle-based personal storage solution, is now available to more than one million local residents with the doubling of its service area and introduction of Sunday service, the company announced today. Launched in November 2013, Storrage now provides customers in 40 Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Issaquah and other Eastside zip codes with a convenient personal storage solution that uses a smartphone app for on-demand pickup and delivery to their doors.

“With more and more of our neighbors dealing with limited space, we are excited to be able to help them with our expanded service area and Sunday service,” said Terry Drayton, founder and CEO of Storrage. “Our customers say that they want to use their living space for living, not for storing infrequently used or seasonal items. With the living space customers have gotten back with Storrage, they are able to entertain more often, let a friend move in, do yoga in their apartment, or set up world headquarters for their new start-up.” 

By utilizing mobile apps, cloud technology and good old fashioned service, Storrage helps customers reclaim their crowded closets, balconies, basements, garages and living spaces without ever having to leave their homes. Customers typically store items that they use once a year or for a season – keeping decorations, seasonal clothes, documents, camping gear, keepsakes, bikes, golf clubs, skis and snowboards within reach.

The Storrage app – available for free on iPhone, iPad and Android devices – allows customers to request next-day home pickup and delivery. Most customers start with delivery of empty commercial-grade containers, which they can easily fill, name and tag with photos of the contents. Then they use the app to schedule pickup, available Tuesday through Sunday in one-hour windows between noon and 8 p.m. Storrage stores the containers in a secure facility until the customers need their items, which are retrieved using the app to schedule next-day delivery to their doorstep.

As Seattle’s housing market continues to tighten and get more expensive, so does the need for affordable, secure, off-site personal storage. Storrage’s service allows customers to take control of their living space on their terms.

“Seattle rent and utilities costs are on the rise, and the cost of self-storage is high, at an average of $175 a month,” Drayton added. “We designed our service with all Seattle and Eastside residents in mind—from the student to the senior citizen—which is why we priced our all-in cost at around $25 a month for the average customer. And new customers can get started for only one dollar.”

The announcement comes on the heels of Storrage’s recent move to a new expanded warehouse space. The new warehouse capacity is four times as large as the previous space; standing at 10,000 square feet with enough room for up to 25,000 containers. The secure, climate-controlled warehouse is suitable for storing almost anything.
