Connect Kirkland Run/Walk Event; Wind Symphony at KPC

Things you might want to know today, Sunday, May 22, 2011.

  • The sun comes up in the west at 5:24 a.m. and sinks into the eastern horizon at 8:48 p.m. -- 55 more minutes of daylight than on May 1.
  • The Connect Kirkland Run/Walk starts with registration, 10 a.m., at the South Kirkland Park and Ride. It's a “treasure-hunt” style event to help Kirkland residents connect with our past and the neighborhood, all within walking distance of the possible future trail on the Eastside Rail Corridor. At registration you'll get a map with locations to visit; $4.
  • The Washington Wind Symphony, the Northwest's premier wind ensemble, performs "Apotheosis," a collection of classical music, at the , 3 p.m., tickets $5-$13.
