Harvest Moon Rising; Patriot Day Ceremony at City Hall

- This morning’s sunrise is at 6:42 a.m. and tonight’s sunset is at 7:28 p.m.
- The impending autumn season is fast approaching, as indicated by tonight’s phenomenal harvest moon. This full moon is especially breathtaking in that it is large, reddish-orange and rises earlier than a standard full moon. Fingers crossed for clear skies tonight so viewing of natural wonder is possible.
- The meets at from 6:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Council meets the second and fourth Monday of each month.
- The Pacific Science Center and KCTS9 present the Eastside Science Café at at 7 p.m. This event provides an educational opportunity to meet with scientists in the casual, fun environment of a local pub. This evening, Kelly Bush of Equinox Research and Consulting Inc. will lead a discussion on archaeology in the Pacific Northwest. This series meets the second Monday of each month.
- Experience storytelling with a twist with Jim French’s Imagination Theater at at 7:30 p.m. This evening of entertainment features live radio drama with sound effects, mystery and a special appearance by Richard Sanders of ‘WKRP in Cincinnati.' Tickets are $9 and can be purchased here.
- For the anniversary of the tragic events of ten years ago, members of the Kirkland Fire Department and Police Department will be speaking at at 8 a.m. for Patriot Day: A September 11 Remembrance Event.
