Author to Sign Book About Pilot Father's WWII Capture at Kirkland Costco

James Keeffe III will sign copies of 'Two Gold Coins and a Prayer' on Feb. 4.

Fall City author James Keeffe III will sign copies of his book about his bomber pilot father’s gripping World War II story at the Kirkland store on Feb. 4, 1-3 p.m.

He will also appear for a book-signing at the Woodinville Costco, Feb. 5, 1-3 p.m.

U.S. Army pilot Lt. James Keeffe, Jr., now 88 and a Bellevue resident, was shot down over Nazi-occupied Holland four days before his 21st birthday. He evaded capture with the help of the Dutch resistance for five months, but ultimately was double-crossed and sent to the infamous POW camp Stalag Luft III.

“Two Gold Coins and And a Prayer” by the younger Keeffe brings the saga to the present, relating a September visit by a Jewish woman who hid the elder Keeffe 67 years ago. The book has won several awards, including the 2011 Military Writers Society of America award in the Air Force category.

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
