Armed Robber Hits 85th St. Baskin-Robbins; Similar Robbery on Oct. 27

The suspect in the Wednesday night robbery wore a black leather jacket, hoody and had a white bandanna covering his face. On Oct. 27 a suspect with a similar approach robbed the nearby Rose Hill Texaco.

A man with a white bandanna covering his face and carrying a pistol robbed the Rose Hill Baskin-Robbins store Wednesday night, and Kirkland police suspect he might be the same gunman who robbed a nearby Texaco store on Oct. 27.

“We have one white male suspect, he had a semiautomatic pistol and fled on foot,” said Kirkland Police Department spokesman Lt. Mike Murray. “We set up a perimeter and did a K-9 search but didn’t locate him.”

The robbery was at about 7:20 p.m. at the ice cream shop on NE 85th Street. Staff at the store were not injured. The robber got away with more than $200.

Murray said an armed robber using the same method hit the nearby Texaco station and store at about 9:30 p.m. Oct. 27. “We think it might be the same guy,” he said. “He matches the description.”

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20s, wearing a dark “hoody” and black leather jacket, with a white bandanna covering his face. Police think he might be someone who lives in the neighborhood, and are continuing to investigate.

Anyone with potential information about who the suspect is can contact the Kirkland Police Department at 425-577-5656.
