Body Found in Lake Washington off Bellevue

A utility worker finds a body in Lake Washington off the Newport Shores neighborhood; no crime is suspected.

Bellevue police recovered a body in Lake Washington off a private beach in the Newport Shores neighborhood Wednesday morning.

A Bellevue utility worker found the body floating in the water just after 10 a.m. while doing routine work along the shoreline of the lake, Bellevue police spokeswoman Office Carla Iafrate said.

There is no crime suspected, she said.

Bellevue police and the King County Medical Examiner's Office have not released the identity of the man who was found. An update is expected Thursday.
