Kingsgate Woman Stabs Man in Self Defense

Kirkland Police say a 28-year-old Kirkland man was stabbed in the back after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend early Saturday morning.

A domestic argument early Saturday morning escalated when a woman stabbed her boyfriend in the back, according to Kirkland police.

Police officers responded at 4:29 a.m. to the domestic violence incident on the 12300 block of NE 150th Ct. on a report of a stabbing.

Police said they found an uncooperative 28-year-old man there with a stab wound to the back, and investigators quickly determined a 22-year-old girlfriend of the male had stabbed the male and left the scene.

Kirkland Police Lt. Lt. John Haslip said the woman was located and said she stabbed her boyfriend out of fear for her safety after he had allegedly assaulted and choked her during a domestic argument. She had observable injuries.

The man was transported to the hospital for treatment of the non life-threatening injury, and was arrested for domestic violence/second-degree assault and an outstanding Felony State Dept. of Corrections warrant.

The female was also arrested on an outstanding Felony Harassment warrant.
