KPD Blotter: Squatter Evicted, Women in 90s Fight, Mental Hospital Assault

A a 15-year-old girl was arrested for allegedly assaulting a nurse at Fairfax Hospital and two women in their 90s created a disturbance at a care facility.

 

The following are selected reports from the Kirkland Police Department for the period of April 24-26. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

April 24

  • A 15-year-old female from Spanaway was arrested at Fairfox Hospital in Juanita after she grabbed a nurse by the hair and threw her across the hallway. The nurse, a 37-year-old North Bend resident, did not require emergency care, but was hurt in the head and hip. The young woman was taken to the King County Youth Center. The incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m.


April 25

  • With the help of a cab driver, police identified a 26-year-old Kirkland man as a suspect in the theft from the cabbie of a $58 fare. The person fled without paying after arriving at a Kirkland destination just after midnight. Police showed the driver a montage of photos, and he picked out the Kirkland suspect with 75 percent certainty. However, police were not able to find the man at his Houghton residence.
  • Police were called to a care facility on 120th street in Juanita after two women 99 and 94 years old created a disturbance at about 10 a.m. There were no injuries.
  • A 51-year-old homeless man found living in an abandoned building on 116th Avenue in the Highlands neighborhood was arrested for trespassing and for outstanding warrants for burglary and theft, one a felony. He was arrested at about noon. An 87-year-old man was also involved in the case, perhaps the property owner.


April 26

  • An assortment of gold and silver jewelry, more than $250 cash in $2 bills and quarters, and a case of silver collector’s spoons were stolen in a burglary at a home on 128th Avenue on Rose Hill between 10:45 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. The burglar broke in through the front door of the home. The victim was an 83-year-old woman. No fingerprints were found, and police do not have any suspects.
