KPD Blotter: Two Finn Hill Homes Burlgarized

In other cases, a man is arrested for assault after fighting with his girlfriend in a car, and a thief drills out a car wash cash box to steal quarters.

The following are selected reports from the Kirkland Police Department for the period of April 15-17. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

April 15

  • A man jumped out of his dark gray Honda and ran over to grab an iPhone from the top of another car, apparently stopped for the traffic light at 97th and Juanita Drive, right at Juanita Beach Park. The phone had been accidentally left on the car by the 56-year female victim, a resident of Kirkland. The man then jumped back into his car and took the next right, driving away. The woman did not realize what had happened until a few minutes later. Police did get the phone number. It all occurred at about 5:10 p.m.

April 16

  • Social Security cards, a Gucci watch and other watches, two jewelry boxes with multiple rings and bracelets and five purses were stolen in a burglary between 8:30 a.m. and 9:10 a.m. at a home on Finn Hill’s NE 145th Street. The 56-year-old female resident told police she was gone for just that short period. She came home to find the front door forced open and muddy footprints on the kitchen floor. Police found no fingerprints or leads, but the footprints indicated two burglars, one likely a smaller female.
  • Gone overnight, a 47-year-old female resident of 87th Place on Finn Hill came home just after noon to discover someone had entered her home apparently through an unlocked garage door and stolen a new, 40-inch flatscreen television. Police found no fingerprints, no suspect information.
  • A 43-year-old Everett man was arrested for domestic assault after he and his 42-year-old live-in girlfriend each had four glasses of wine and dinner at restaurants in Kirkland and Bellevue, then got into a fight on the drive back to his downtown Kirkland workplace. During the drive at about 6:15 p.m., their conversation became heated, and when he made a comment about her son, she punched him in the arm. He then reached around her neck to choke her, according to the police report, and she bit his arm to get him to let go. The arrest was made in the 800 block of Kirkland Avenue.
