Police Seek Information on Man Who Exposed Himself to Two Groups of Girls

KPD releases three sketches and is asking for information from anyone who might know who the suspect is.

Kirkland police have released three sketches and are trying to identify a man who exposed himself on Aug. 25 to two groups of teenage girls in the Bridle Trails area.

The man first exposed himself to three girls, ages 14 and 15, who were walking along Northeast 70th Place. A few minutes later, two 15-year-old girls were walking in the 7000 block of 130th Ave. N.E. when an unknown man ran up from behind them and bumped into one of the girls while exposing himself, according to Kirkland police.

The latter two girls immediately ran home and reported the incident.

Kirkland Police Det. Allan O’Neill said police believe it was the same man in both incidents, and explained the differences in the sketches as differing impressions by various girls.

“Basically, we had five witnesses,” he said Thursday. “One sketch was by one group and the others by the other group.”

The incidents on Aug. 25 are not related to another case of a man who was arrested on suspicion of exposure earlier this month in the Everest area, he said.

“At this time we believe this is an isolated case, but that the two cases (on Aug. 25) are related,” he said.

Police searched the area with a K-9 unit but were not able to locate a suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20 to 40 years old, about 5-foot-10 with a slim build, dark brown eyes, dark, bushy eyebrows, short reddish-brown hair, unshaven with a possible goatee. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, a light shirt underneath, long khaki camo-print shorts, a tan belt, and white “ear bud” headphones.

Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact the Kirkland Police Department Tip Line at 425-587-3515.
