VIDEO: $8,000 Reward Offered in 'Duct Tape Bandit' Bank Robberies

Four police agencies in Western Washington are joining forces to seek a suspect who has worn duct tape over his nose while robbing local banks.

 

The has joined police agencies in Edmonds, Poulsbo and Stanwood to offer an $8,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a duct tape-wearing bank robber.

Police say the man was wearing black duct tape over his nose when he robbed banks in each of the four towns this spring and summer. The on Northeast 85th Street.

In each of the incidents, the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money be placed inside a white cloth bag. A bank employee was assaulted in the Stanwood robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 20s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with short, light-brown hair, a thin to medium build and possibly a tattoo on the inside of his left leg (see attached photos and videos). 

Here is a complete list of banks that were targeted:

  • May 24—Whidbey Island Bank (Stanwood)
  • June 7—Key Bank (Poulsbo)
  • June 20—Wells Fargo (Edmonds)
  • Aug. 8— (Redmond)

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS. Callers with tips that lead to an arrest and charges against the suspect are eligible to receive a $1,000 reward. Wells Fargo is offering an additional award of up to $5,000, and First Citizens is offering up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

In the City of Kirkland you need a City-issued business license to do Door-to-door solicitation. IRead More am willing to bet they did not have the license. Call the police next time.
